We were very pleased to announce UL certification for JuiceBox, particularly given the new product includes a variety of other enhancements such as: front LED status indicators, low-profile high-gain antenna, and upgraded internals for improved performance and reliability.

While JuiceBox has always been safe, the official UL “seal of approval” expands JuiceBox eligibility for additional city, state and utility-based incentives that were in some cases unavailable to customers previously.

EVSE incentives for residential, commercial and public charging

We’ve put together a comprehensive list of North America electric vehicle incentives, which includes a range of attractive programs offered by utility service providers. Here are a few highlights:

Sonoma Clean Power (SCP), California

Qualified SCP customers are eligible to receive a free JuiceNet-enabled EVSE from eMotorWerks, choosing amongst JuiceBox Pro 40, Aerovironment EVSE-RS JuiceNet Edition, and Clipper Creek HCS-40 JuiceNet Edition. Each of these stations allows the EVSE to be connected to WiFi and communicate for smart charging. Customers also receive a $150 signup bonus. Learn more here.

Customers with an existing, non-connected EVSE, are qualified to receive a free JuicePlug, our universal smart-grid EVSE adapter.

LADWP and GWP, California

Southern California utility providers Los Angeles Department of Water & Power (LADWP) and Glendale Water & Power (GWP) offer rebates of $500 to individuals who install level 2 charging stations at residential locations. Indiana Michigan Power

Outside of California, municipal utility Indiana Michigan Power is offering a $2,500 incentive to offset the cost of installing a home charging station to the first 250 qualified plug-in electric vehicle owners within their service area. 

Georgia

Georgia Power offers a rebate to residential customers and commercial builders who install Level 2 (208/240 volt) EVSE. Residential customers are eligible for a $250 rebate and new home construction builders are eligible for a $100 rebate for each dedicated circuit installed. Learn more here.

Other incentive types abound

In California, the three major IOUs — PG&E, SCE, and SDG&E — offer credits of between $200 and $500 to EV owners, paid for by the sale of California Air Resources Board credits aimed at lowering the carbon intensity of fuels. We also make these incentives available to our commercial customers, enabling discounts on future EVSE purchases. Contact us, if interested.

Many other electric car incentives exist, as referenced in this comprehensive list, such as Vermont, where local utilities are offering customers a $250 credit for the purchase of a new or used plug-in electric vehicle and The Burlington Electric Department, which now offers a $1,200 rebate on the purchase or lease of a new EV or a $600 rebate for the purchase or lease of a new plug-in hybrid EV.
