Under current law, consumers may receive a tax credit of up to $7,500 if they purchase an eligible electric vehicle. U.S. Senator Collins joined Senators Stabenow, Alexander and Peters in introducing the Driving America Forward Act, which would allow an additional 400,000 vehicles per manufacturer to be eligible for the tax credit and extend the hydrogen fuel cell credit for ten years.
Ford, General Motors, Clean Vehicles and Fuels Group and other known manufacturers and organizations consider this bill to be a step towards the successful innovative future.
