eMotorWerks’ parent company, Enel, heavily invests in EV infrastructure across Italy with the goal of increasing adoption of electric vehicles. By building an an electric highway from Milan all the way to Rome, the company aims to reduce the drivers’ "range anxiety" - the fear of running out of power before reaching the destination point. This factor still plays a big role for many people when it comes to going electric.
Along this highway EV drivers will be able to recharge their batteries every 60 minutes. This project is a part of Enel’s commitment to build 7,000 recharging points in urban and rural areas by 2020. Taking into account growing sales of new electric cars, such infrastructure is absolutely needed.
