Toyota Doubles Down On Ontario

Toyota Canada recently announced its plans to invest $1.09 billion into its Cambridge and Woodstock manufacturing plants in Ontario which will become Toyota’s North American manufacturing hub for the RAV4, including hybrid versions. Ontario is strongly determined to facilitate the widespread adoption of electric vehicles and expansion of the charging infrastructure. Not long ago Ontario’s first manufacturing plant for electric vehicle charging stations was opened, following the partnership between California-based smart-grid electric vehicle charging provider eMotorWerks and Autochargers.ca.

We wrote about the partnership with the Autochargers.ca last year. The EV manufacturing facility is expected to create 100 new jobs in the region within the next three years. At maximum capacity, the Autochargers.ca facility will produce 40,000 charging stations annually.
