Honda recently unveiled its SmartCharge beta program that couples with the eMotorWerks’ JuiceNet cloud platform and the Fit EV’s built-in telematics system to automatically calculate ideal charging times. eMotorWerks, Honda’s Demand Response Provider, gets real-time grid information via the cloud from the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) that delivers wholesale electricity to local utilities in California and Nevada and distributes it to 30 million customers.
