Honda partnered with eMotorWerks to offer southern California drivers of Honda Fit electric vehicles a service which can help them determine the most environmentally-friendly charging times — and possibly earn monetary incentives to move that demand off-peak.

eMotorWerks will act as the demand response provider for the recently introduced Honda SmartCharge beta program and interface with the California ISO, allowing electric vehicle chargers to participate in demand response events to support the grid. The EV drivers can use the app to select their preferred charging times, and the program will determine the ideal time when the demand is low and when renewable energy sources are readily available.
