Axios recently featured the story about the current situation in EV battery development. Bi-directional battery capability in electric vehicles would allow customers to make better use of the grid power and to have a backup energy source during blackouts. Such model is used already in projects like eMotorWerks’ cooperation with UK company EO Charging to let British customers test this new technology.
There are still technical difficulties with the implementation of such batteries as well as a need for a new economical model for both businesses and consumers. However, such tasks are to be expected as new products enter the market and change customers’ expectations.
