eMotorWerks wins finalist selection in 2018 Edison Awards

eMotorWerks to be honored at Edison Awards Gala on April 20 in New York

San Carlos, Calif., USA - February 8, 2018 -- JuiceNet, the internet of things electric vehicle (EV) charging software by eMotorWerks, has been named a 2017 Award Finalist by the internationally renowned Edison Awards™. The distinguished awards, inspired by Thomas Edison’s persistence and inventiveness, recognize innovation, creativity and ingenuity in the global economy. Award winners will be announced April 20, 2017 at the Edison Awards Annual Gala, held in the historic Ballroom of the Capitale in New York City.

“It’s exciting to see companies like eMotorWerks continuing Thomas Edison’s legacy of challenging conventional thinking,” said Frank Bonafilia, Edison Awards’ executive director. “Edison Awards recognizes the game-changing products and services, and the teams that brought them to consumers.”

“We’re thrilled to be an Edison Award finalist among some of the most innovative companies in the country,” said Val Miftakhov, CEO of eMotorWerks. “Electrification of transport is the largest GHG reduction opportunity facing the planet and it cannot be done without smart-grid charging. That’s why we have deployed the world’s first solution for minimizing EV emissions and remotely optimizing charging load. Being named an Edison Award finalist is a reflection of the hard work of the entire eMotorWerks team to bring our vision to reality.”

JuiceNet provides the requisite middle layer for “grid services” unachievable by dozens of EVSE and EV OEMs who are trying to connect directly with thousands of utilities around the world. The software lets utilities moderate EV charging to prevent grid overload and time EV charging to make use of renewable energy. This same feature allows EV OEMs to deliver clean energy e-mobility options to their customers. JuiceNet generates grid services “rewards” for drivers while understanding their driving habits to ensure EVs are charged when needed. And, importantly, utilities earn recurring energy revenue ceded to the oil industry over 100 years ago.
